New York: Published by John G. Treadwell, 1847. 0. Hardcover. Contemporary light brown, with triple fillet border in blind, the middle one thicker. Another border, comprised of a decorative pattern within a row of dots in blind. In the corners, leafy pattern continued with a bird within the design. On the top, the bird has a twig in his mouth; on the bottom, the bird has its wings outstretched. A roll stamp in gilt in the center; within a stylized design, an oval with the words, "Friendship, then a haloed dove, Love and Truth." A bird perched on arrows pointing in both horizontal positions on top of the oval. An open book, entitled "Holy Bible" below the oval. The book encircled by a banner, reading, "But the First of these is Charity." Binding executed by Colton & Jenkins, Binders N.Y. Their name stamped on the upper cover within the rule. Good.

This work is rarely found in the deluxe binding: The handsomely gilt-stamped publisher's cloth is the norm. Good.
